We created AR cards displaying explanations and images of each of the Five Great Wisdom Kings for Ninna-ji Temple, the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism, a World Heritage Site located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.
The murals of the Five Great Wisdom Kings were kept secret from the public for 372 years, but were first unveiled in the fall of 2018, and will be open to the public for the first time in five years in the fall of 2023.
AR Works, which has a track record with World Heritage sites such as the Tomioka Silk Mill, provided AR cards to coincide with the second special exhibition of the Five Great Wisdom Kings in five years, as part of its approach to younger generations.
Five Great Wisdom Kings AR Card
This time, AR Works has created an AR card of the Five Great Wisdom Kings, which will be distributed exclusively to those who meet certain conditions.
By scanning the QR code on the card, an explanation and image of each of the Five Great Wisdom Kings (Acala, Gosanze, Gundari, Daiitoku, and Kongoyakusha) will be displayed in AR.
You can enjoy the realistic appearance of the Five Great Wisdom Kings, which are rarely seen in real life, in AR.
About Ninna-ji Temple
Ninna-ji Temple was founded in 888 and is currently the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism.
The temple grounds are lined with buildings constructed during the Edo period, such as the five-story pagoda and the Niomon Gate.
The Omuro cherry blossoms, which were planted around the same time, are at their best in mid-April, and like the buildings, they still look the same today as they did back then.
In 1994, it was registered as a World Heritage Site.

AR Works not only designs, produces and develops new promotions tailored to the usage and situation, but also
supports customers from the planning stage. We can
create AR that suits the needs of the company, such as web AR without an app, and creating Meta Spark, which is ideal for marketing on social media.
