We created an AR for Shirotan, a vertical-legged seal character who is celebrating his 25th anniversary this year. AR Works plans to develop AR projects throughout the year to celebrate Shirotan's 25th anniversary. In this article introducing our work, we will introduce the AR we have created throughout the year.

First installment: Nokkarishirotan AR

The first product, Nokkari Shirotan AR, is a cute AR filter that places Shirotan on your head when MetaSpark (SNS AR) detects your face. At the same time, skin and face beautification effects are applied, allowing you to take photos that "look great." It also comes with a glitter effect that adds sparkle to your face, a trend among young people, which can be switched on and off to suit your preference. It
supports multiple people, allowing you to take photos of up to three people at the same time, so you can enjoy taking photos of a variety of scenes, including friends, lovers, and family.

Second edition: Bistro Shirotan Original AR [Updated 2024.7.30]

The second product, Bistro Sirotan's original AR, is a photo frame that allows you to take photos by adjusting the position and size of character objects placed in MetaSpark (SNS AR). AR can be accessed by scanning the QR codes distributed on novelties and posted in-store at Bistro Sirotan, a cafe in Tokyo Station in collaboration with Bistro Cléante TOKYO.

Third installment: Shirotan Underwater AR [Updated 2024.7.30]

The third installment, Shirotan Under the Sea AR, is a MetaSpark (SNS AR) app that allows you to enjoy Shirotan's world in 360 degrees. By moving the smartphone device with AR activated, you can see a 360-degree augmented reality, giving you a realistic experience as if you were in the ocean.
To commemorate Shirotan's 25th anniversary, Tokyo Station will be wrapped in Shirotan design, and the wrapping design will include QR codes for the first installment content, "Shirotan AR on Board," and the latest offering, "Shirotan Under the Sea AR."
